MOBILE HOME. 20 min.

MOBILE HOME is a 20-minute, three-channel film exploring the notion of belonging through the intimate lens of everyday life. Created in collaboration with eight young women across different Chinese cities, the project was entirely produced through WeChat, allowing for a unique, decentralized process of filmmaking.

I invited each participant to document their daily routines, asking them to interpret and capture the most familiar moments of their lives through their mobile phones. What emerged was a series of deeply personal perspectives, each shaped by their individual experiences and surroundings. These fragments of life were then edited into a three-channel vertical installation resembling the format of a mobile phone screen, moving from dusk to dawn, reflecting the rhythms of their days and the subtle variations of their routines.

The film blurs the line between the personal and collective, as these women navigate urban life and the idea of home. In a world where technology shapes much of our experience, MOBILE HOME reflects on routine, identity, and the search for connection in both virtual and physical spaces. Through their intimate contributions, the project opens a conversation about belonging in today’s rapidly shifting world.
